Day 2
Like I said on my previous post, we had to get up at 6.30 for morning exercise. So with the seniors conducting the exercise, the juniors had to run around the basketball court three times.
Then every patrol were given a loaf of bread and a can of kaya. Yes, we had to open the can using our own personal can opener. Everyone had like only fifteen minutes to eat and prepare for morning inspection which was at like 7.
My patrol was supposed to be the first but we were not really ready at 7. Luckily Sir was kind enough to give us some extra time to prepare. Morning inspection took some time as there were eight patrols that needed to be inspected. The seniors also check our campsite to make sure that it was clean and organized. Note to self: NEVER make a shoe rack for four people when the patrol has nine people.
After morning inspection, Sir and the seniors told us to pack up, clean up the remaining rubbish around the campsite and strengthen the tent (the tent looks like it was gonna fall). Then, we had to prepare for 'Istiadat'. This 'Istiadat' was the last for Chee Ming kor kor. :0 :(
Then Sir Jeremy awarded Patrol Huntress the 'Best Patrol' award. So Patrol Huntress had the Best Patrol Scarf. I don't have a picture of if but it's blue and has yellow trim.
Then we had backwoods at 'The Dungeon' aka block G. Sir wanted us to roast our chicken instead of Fiji style. Every patrol were given one whole chicken, eggs, flour and yeast. We also brought our mini 'cangkul', 'periuks' and of course the dry wood and leaves. We divided the work among ourselves to make sure that the job was done in time. We started at about 10 a.m. and we were supposed to present our chicken to Sir at 1 in the afternoon.
Immidiately Nicholas (QMM Patrol Bataman) made sure that the chicken was cleaned and the other PBs started digging a hole to start the fire and shave some wood to roast the chicken and cook the 'roti lilit'. This time I made the 'roti lilit' dough and Li Wei (APL Patrol Batman) helped me to wrap it around the shaved sticks. This time the dough was awsome! :-)
Then we roasted the chicken on the fire. Before roasting, we marinated the chicken in egg and seasoned it with salt and pepper. This time we managed to cook the chicken and 'roti lilit' as the amber was HOT. Yeah no raw chicken and bread. :-)
Potatoes and eggs were also managed to be cooked. After presenting the food to the seniors (Sir was busy at that time), we cleaned up and went back to the pavilion.
Thats all for tonight. I'll continue next week as I can't go online on the
weekdays and I have to sleep now.
Night,
Szen
